Adult: initial: 800 mg (two 400 mg tablets) taken with ritonavir 100 mg once daily with food. Maintenance: 600mg taken with ritonavir 100 mg twice daily with food. Child: Dose is based on body weight of the child. It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, with food.

High cholesterol level. High triglyceride level. Headache. Upset stomach or throwing up. Many small meals, good mouth care, sucking hard, sugar-free candy, or chewing sugar-free gum may help. Loose stools (diarrhea). Change in body fat. Feeling tired or weak. Harm to the liver may rarely happen. Pancreatitis may rarely happen.

If you are taking 1 time a day and it is more than 12 hours until your next dose, take the missed dose right away. If you are taking 1 time a day and it is less than 12 hours to your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. If you are taking 2 times a day and it is more than 6 hours to your next dose, take the missed dose right away. If you are taking 2 times a day and it is less than 6 hours to your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses. Do not change the dose or stop this drug. Talk with the doctor.

If you have an allergy to darunavir, ritonavir, or any other part of this drug. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs. Make sure to tell about the allergy and what signs you had. This includes telling about rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs. If you have a sulfa (sulfonamide) allergy, talk with your doctor. If you are not taking ritonavir.
